Location
We are situated to the north of the town on the road towards Ardleigh and Manningtree, the A137, which at our point is simply called “Parsons Heath”.
Directions from Colchester town centre
From the High Street, stay in the left hand lane and continue down East Hill. Go straight across the crossroads at the bottom of the hill (traffic lights), and straight across the mini-roundabout immediately beyond.
Past a pedestrian crossing (more traffic lights) and over the River Colne. Past the Siege House on your left.
Straight across at the next mini-roundabout, towards the railway level-crossing. Over the crossing and up the hill which bears left. You are now on the Harwich Road, which is split in two by the inner bypass.
At the top of the hill is a double mini roundabout where Harwich Road forms a crossroads with the inner bypass, the A133 St Andrews Avenue. You need to go straight across the bypass, and neither left nor right lane at this point holds any advantage over the other.
Beware that immediately beyond the roundabout is a pelican crossing.
Follow Harwich Road for approximately 1 mile, during which time you will pass some shops on your right, a zebra crossing, a post office on your right, and some more shops on your left, before reaching a further mini-roundabout.
Turn left onto Parsons Heath road, and fork right at the next mini-roundabout. The church is on your left a short distance beyond, immediately before a public footpath and a fairly tall hedge.
